The moon fairy is perhaps one of the most ethereal of nature beings:
pale, luminous, and almost invisible…
only appearing at night
when the moonlight is just right
and during certain seasonal and lunar cycles.
For it follows the cycles of the moon.
A moon fae is most often female. Just as the moon is a lovely light in the night sky, moon fairies are a match to its celestial beauty. They are night fairies and elusive, gliding in and out of soft moon shadows, streaming silvery moon beams -- which some have thought to be "wings" (those fortunate enough to catch a glimpse).
Ah yes, fortunate indeed, for finding moon fairies brings good fortune.
Or so it is said.
For although always present when the moon rises, they do not always take on form. That is, form that is discernible to the human eye. But should it happen…
